Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. She was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers concise easy-to-master techniques for home cooks in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has also worked at some of the top eateries within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. Her passion was for food and restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute that I was a student at The Culinary Institute of America she declares. It was hard to study, do or work enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In her time in Italy she was able to fully be aware of the philosophy behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that has had a profound impact from a culinary viewpoint. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children who are facing challenges. She is also a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador, where she is an advocate for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and teacher Burrell travels throughout the US to talk about her passion for cooking as well as her profession. Anne has, through her whole cooking journey, has said that it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to share this passion for the food industry with people.
